Time to move on?
Moving out is something we all do from time to time. However, try to keep track of and follow the rules that apply to lease termination to make things easier for both yourself and us at Student Housing in the Nordic region. Finally, we wish you all the best with your future housing!
Termination of your lease agreement and additional information can be found in our housing app.
Important Information
Like most lease agreements, your student housing also has a notice period. Our housing in Luleå with 10-month rent has two to three months’ notice period, and all our other housing has three months’ notice period.
Don’t forget that we count full calendar months. For example, if the termination notice is submitted in mid-March, your notice months will be April, May, and June. Your termination confirmation will then state 20XX-06-30 as the move-out date, but note that the actual move-out always takes place by the morning of the first following weekday at the latest. If you have rent-free months, these are not affected by your notice period.
We would like to remind you not to forget to cancel any personal contracts, such as your home insurance or electricity agreement, with your respective providers. Also, remember to update your address to your new residence.
Notice Period
We cannot adjust your notice period.
If the next tenant is interested in moving in earlier, we can, with your approval, share your contact information with the next tenant. The tenant will then be able to contact you.
After that, you need to schedule an inspection with our technician. An inspection must be booked before a new tenant moves in. You both sign a power of attorney, which you can find here. The next tenant needs to present the power of attorney when collecting the keys. You will agree on the move-in date, compensation, and other details between yourselves.
We are not part of this agreement, and also note that the current tenant has ultimate responsibility for the lease agreement until their contract expires.
It’s important that you keep your home insurance during the time you have a notice period in case an accident should occur.
