How do I apply for student housing in Stockholm?
Our student apartments in Stockholm are allocated through our housing queue and via Stockholm Housing Agency. To apply for student housing, the following applies:
The first thing you need to do is register an account – it’s completely free. You don’t need to be a student to collect points, and you can start collecting queue points from the age of 13, so don’t wait!
From the date you register, you start collecting queue points per day. The more points you have, the greater the chance of being offered student housing. How many points you need varies depending on the demand for each apartment and location. It’s therefore always good to collect as many points as possible. Usually, the person with the most points is offered the accommodation.
It’s now time to create a complete profile with the information and certificates required to express interest in your future student housing!
Your complete profile consists of:

- Student certificate with decision document from CSN
- Consent for free registry extract
Now you’re ready to apply for student housing!
When you’ve found the perfect student housing you want to apply for, it’s time to submit an expression of interest! When you’ve expressed your interest, you’re included in the selection of potential tenants who may be offered student housing.

If you have the most queue points among those who have expressed interest in a student housing you’ve applied for and meet other criteria, you will now receive a rental offer sent via email. Click on the link to respond to the offer or log in to the housing queue and look under “Your expressions of interest”.
It’s now time to sign the rental contract for your future student housing – congratulations! Upon signing, you will receive a rental contract sent from us. You will have access to your student housing according to the date specified in the contract. Make sure to keep track of what’s stated in your contract, read more on moving in for more information.

If you’re applying for a student apartment through Bostad Stockholm, you first need to register as a housing applicant. It costs 200 SEK per year to be in the housing queue, and you can register from the day you turn 18. You are responsible for searching among the student apartments that are advertised, keep an eye out for those marked as student or student corridor. Most apartments are advertised for a short time, about 2 days. Therefore, check daily and often.
