Admission Notification 2025 – What to Consider?

Your admission notification, and especially the wait for it, is a very exciting part of the journey towards starting at a university or college. This is where you find out if you have been accepted, rejected, or are on the waiting list for the programs you applied to.

Regardless of the notification, it is important to know what applies and what you need to do to secure your place. In this text, we clarify everything you need to consider regarding your admission notification for 2025, how admission statistics can help you before the notification, and where to find the Swedish Council for Higher Education’s (UHR) admission statistics.

Admission Notification – What Is It?

An admission notification is the actual answer to whether you have been accepted, placed on a waiting list, or rejected from the programs you applied to. It is sent out in two rounds – first and second selection. You will receive your notification on antagning.se.

First Admission Notification

The first admission notification is the most important, as it gives you the opportunity to accept or decline the places you are offered. If you have been admitted to several programs, you can only accept one full-time program, but it is possible to combine part-time courses. It is also at this stage that you see if you are on the waiting list for any program. To keep your place in the programs you have been admitted to or placed on a waiting list for, you must actively accept, otherwise your place will be revoked.

Second Admission Notification

The second notification shows the final admissions after reserves have been called in. Even if you are not admitted during the second admission notification, there is still a chance for you as a reserve to get a place if someone who has been offered a place drops out. Keep a close eye on this notification and be ready to act quickly so you don’t miss your chance.

When Does the Admission Notification Come?

The exact date for the admission notification varies from year to year, and of course depending on whether it is an admission notification for summer courses, the spring semester, or the autumn semester. The following applies to the admission notification for 2025:

Admission Notification Spring Semester

For the spring semester of 2025, the first admission notification will be released on December 10, 2024, and the second notification will follow shortly thereafter. Be prepared to quickly accept or decline.

Admission Notification Autumn Semester

For the autumn semester of 2025, the first notification will be sent out on July 10, and the second notification will come later the same month. This applies to both full-time programs and courses.

Admission Notification Summer Courses

You will receive your admission notification for summer courses 2025 on April 28.

Once the admission notification has arrived, you can view it by logging in to antagning.se, which is the same website where you applied for the programs. There you will also see more details about each program.

Find Admission Statistics

Want to know more about your chances of being admitted? Then admission statistics are a useful tool. At the Swedish Council for Higher Education’s (UHR) admission statistics, you can see, among other things, previous years’ admission scores, how many have been admitted to various programs and courses, and in which selection groups.

Admission statistics can give you an idea of what grades or test results are usually required to be admitted. If you think you have a good chance of getting into any of your courses, you can start planning for your likely study time even before you receive the admission notification, for example by looking for accommodation and planning your student budget – even if it is of course not entirely certain that you will get in until you have actually received your notification. At UHR.se you will find admission statistics for various courses, programs and universities for different years and semesters.

Find Accommodation in Time

In addition to keeping track of the notification, it is also important to plan for accommodation. Students who are admitted often need to move quickly, especially if the program is in another location. By joining the SBS housing queue now, you increase your chances of finding safe and affordable accommodation. Good luck with your application!
