If you can&#8217;t find an answer to your question, you&#8217;re always welcome to contact us through My Pages, or alternatively at <a href=\"mailto:info@sbsstudent.se\">info@sbsstudent.se<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Payment and Rent<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"qt-accordion container-default is-style-default\"><div class=\"qt-section__inner grid grid-col-1\">\n<div class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion=\"accordion-item\">\n<h3 class=\"accordion-item__heading wp-block-heading\" data-is-open=\"false\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"trigger-da1f10c0\" aria-controls=\"content-da1f10c0\" data-accordion=\"accordion-trigger\">What happens if I miss a payment?<span class=\"accordion-item__icon\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><span class=\"accordion-icon__inner\"><\/span><\/span><\/button><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item__content\" id=\"content-da1f10c0\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"trigger-da1f10c0\" data-accordion=\"accordion-content\" hidden><div class=\"accordion-content__inner\">\n<p>The full rent is paid in advance and must reach us by the due date stated on the invoice, usually the last weekday before each month. Therefore, make sure to make your rent payment at least two weekdays before each month so it has time to be processed. If you miss a payment, we will not send a reminder, but if payment has not been made within 10 days, we will forward the case to debt collection.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you unexpectedly haven&#8217;t received your invoice or are missing information on it and it&#8217;s approaching the end of the month, contact us at <a href=\"mailto:info@sbsstudent.se\">info@sbsstudent.se<\/a> and we&#8217;ll send it to you.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion=\"accordion-item\">\n<h3 class=\"accordion-item__heading wp-block-heading\" data-is-open=\"false\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"trigger-e41a096c\" aria-controls=\"content-e41a096c\" data-accordion=\"accordion-trigger\">What does it mean that I have rent-free months?<span class=\"accordion-item__icon\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><span class=\"accordion-icon__inner\"><\/span><\/span><\/button><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item__content\" id=\"content-e41a096c\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"trigger-e41a096c\" data-accordion=\"accordion-content\" hidden><div class=\"accordion-content__inner\">\n<p>If you have rent-free months, it means you don&#8217;t need to pay rent during certain months, usually during summer. In such cases, this is clearly stated in your contract. If you&#8217;re unsure about which period this refers to, you can contact us at <a href=\"mailto:info@sbsstudent.se\">info@sbsstudent.se<\/a> and ask. The period is not affected by any termination.  <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion=\"accordion-item\">\n<h3 class=\"accordion-item__heading wp-block-heading\" data-is-open=\"false\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"trigger-a00846be\" aria-controls=\"content-a00846be\" data-accordion=\"accordion-trigger\">Can I sublet my apartment?<span class=\"accordion-item__icon\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><span class=\"accordion-icon__inner\"><\/span><\/span><\/button><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item__content\" id=\"content-a00846be\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"trigger-a00846be\" data-accordion=\"accordion-content\" hidden><div class=\"accordion-content__inner\">\n<p>You must always apply for permission to sublet your student housing, and for us to approve it, you must have a valid reason, such as studying abroad or temporary internship, and it must be for at least six months or one semester and maximum one year or two semesters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Submit a completed application along with documents that support your reason for subletting. For student housing, you must also be able to prove that your subtenant is actively studying during the period. You can find the form <g id=\"gid_0\">here<\/g>. Note that we have a processing time of one month from when we receive a complete application.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you sublet your student housing without first applying for and receiving permission from SBS, you risk termination of your lease. It&#8217;s important that we know who lives in the student housing in case any problems arise, so we can contact the tenant. The person who then sublets must be clear about where they live and who is on the lease when they report faults or similar, so we know it concerns the right apartment when we check everything.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also note that you are responsible for the student housing while you sublet it. You are the one on the lease and responsible for ensuring rent is paid, that nothing breaks in the student housing, and that rules are followed. Make sure to inform the person you&#8217;re subletting to about everything they might need to know about the apartment, the area, the website, phone numbers, waste sorting, how the washing machine and dryer work, and so on.  <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion=\"accordion-item\">\n<h3 class=\"accordion-item__heading wp-block-heading\" data-is-open=\"false\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"trigger-cb3f25fb\" aria-controls=\"content-cb3f25fb\" data-accordion=\"accordion-trigger\">How many people can live in my student housing?<span class=\"accordion-item__icon\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><span class=\"accordion-icon__inner\"><\/span><\/span><\/button><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item__content\" id=\"content-cb3f25fb\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"trigger-cb3f25fb\" data-accordion=\"accordion-content\" hidden><div class=\"accordion-content__inner\">\n<p>Your contract states the maximum number allowed to live in your student housing, but if you&#8217;re unsure, you&#8217;re always welcome to contact us at <a href=\"mailto:info@sbsstudent.se\">info@sbsstudent.se<\/a>. As long as you don&#8217;t have more people living there than allowed, it&#8217;s okay for your partner or a roommate to move in. Just remember that as the contract holder, you still bear full responsibility for the student housing.  <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion=\"accordion-item\">\n<h3 class=\"accordion-item__heading wp-block-heading\" data-is-open=\"false\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"trigger-84432fdc\" aria-controls=\"content-84432fdc\" data-accordion=\"accordion-trigger\">Can I exchange my housing for another student housing?<span class=\"accordion-item__icon\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><span class=\"accordion-icon__inner\"><\/span><\/span><\/button><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item__content\" id=\"content-84432fdc\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"trigger-84432fdc\" data-accordion=\"accordion-content\" hidden><div class=\"accordion-content__inner\">\n<p>If you find someone who wants to exchange housing, and there&#8217;s a special reason for the exchange, you can submit an exchange application along with documents that support your reasons for the exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find the exchange application form <a href=\"https:\/\/sbsstudent.se\/en\/tenant\/forms\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"613\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion=\"accordion-item\">\n<h3 class=\"accordion-item__heading wp-block-heading\" data-is-open=\"false\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"trigger-84432fdc\" aria-controls=\"content-84432fdc\" data-accordion=\"accordion-trigger\">How do I make sure I get my mail to the student housing?<span class=\"accordion-item__icon\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><span class=\"accordion-icon__inner\"><\/span><\/span><\/button><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item__content\" id=\"content-84432fdc\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"trigger-84432fdc\" data-accordion=\"accordion-content\" hidden><div class=\"accordion-content__inner\">\n<p>If you want to receive your mail at your student housing, you must make an address change. You make the address change through Swedish Address Change, either by phone at 020-97 98 99 or their website. Don&#8217;t forget to also make an address change when you move out of your student housing.  <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Housing and Maintenance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"qt-accordion container-default is-style-default\"><div class=\"qt-section__inner grid grid-col-1\">\n<div class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion=\"accordion-item\">\n<h3 class=\"accordion-item__heading wp-block-heading\" data-is-open=\"false\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"trigger-da1f10c0\" aria-controls=\"content-da1f10c0\" data-accordion=\"accordion-trigger\">Can I install a washing machine or dishwasher?<span class=\"accordion-item__icon\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><span class=\"accordion-icon__inner\"><\/span><\/span><\/button><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item__content\" id=\"content-da1f10c0\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"trigger-da1f10c0\" data-accordion=\"accordion-content\" hidden><div class=\"accordion-content__inner\">\n<p>If your student housing doesn&#8217;t have this, the housing is not prepared for it and then it cannot be offered. You are also not allowed to install this as it can damage the housing and the property. If you still install this and it leads to damage, the full amount to fix this will be charged to you as the tenant.  <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion=\"accordion-item\">\n<h3 class=\"accordion-item__heading wp-block-heading\" data-is-open=\"false\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"trigger-e41a096c\" aria-controls=\"content-e41a096c\" data-accordion=\"accordion-trigger\">Can I paint or wallpaper?<span class=\"accordion-item__icon\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><span class=\"accordion-icon__inner\"><\/span><\/span><\/button><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item__content\" id=\"content-e41a096c\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"trigger-e41a096c\" data-accordion=\"accordion-content\" hidden><div class=\"accordion-content__inner\">\n<p>You are not allowed to repaint your student housing without contacting us, and it must be restored to the original color when moving out. In corridor rooms or student housing that is rented furnished, however, pets are not allowed, out of consideration for people with allergies. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion=\"accordion-item\">\n<h3 class=\"accordion-item__heading wp-block-heading\" data-is-open=\"false\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" id=\"trigger-84432fdc\" aria-controls=\"content-84432fdc\" data-accordion=\"accordion-trigger\">Should I change light bulbs and smoke detector batteries myself?<span class=\"accordion-item__icon\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><span class=\"accordion-icon__inner\"><\/span><\/span><\/button><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-item__content\" id=\"content-84432fdc\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"trigger-84432fdc\" data-accordion=\"accordion-content\" hidden><div class=\"accordion-content__inner\">\n<p>Yes, you should change the battery in smoke detectors and replace broken light bulbs yourself. This also applies to places like in the oven and refrigerator. A smoke detector with a low battery usually beeps on and off to indicate that the battery should be changed. Don&#8217;t forget to test the smoke detector regularly, both for your own and other tenants&#8217; safety.
